We all know about the flight or flight reaction, the automatic reaction that the brain uses to protect you. The problem is that it sometimes kicks in when it is not needed. An example of this could be that someone steals an idea of yours at work. We know that we can’t fight them or just run off. Getting into the habit of just pausing for 90 seconds, can calm this fight or flight reaction down. It will also get your thinking from the emotional part of your brain to the logical side. This is crucial for our decision making and reactions to emotional situations.
